Paul Barton joined Casa Emanu-El UMC on November 1, 2020. He is Mexican American, with his mother from Mexico and his father half-Anglo and half-Mexican. He has an M.Div. degree from Perkins School of Theology in 1988, and the Ph.D. degree in Religious Studies from Southern Methodist University in 1999 . He is an ordained elder in the UMC and a clergy member of the Rio Texas Conference. He served as the director of the Course of Studies and the Hispanic-Latino/a Church Ministries Programs at Perkins from 2015-2021. Before that, he was the Associate Professor of the History of American Christianity and Missiology and director of Hispanic Church Studies at Seminary of the Southwest in Austin from 1999-2015. He has served a number of Hispanic and bilingual churches in Texas. Paul's wife, Beth, is a piano and voice instructor at a music school in Prosper. Their adult daughter, Elisa, is married to Surendra Sandrana and they live in Forney.
Ryan has been the Director of Music at Casa Emanu-El UMC since July of 2011. He graduated from McMurray University in Abilene Texas in 2011 with a Bachelor of music in Vocal performance with a minor in Religion and Organ. Ryan also completed the Church Music Summer Seminar program through Perkins school of theology at SMU. Ryan's passion is leading people in worship through music to help them experience God's love through music. Ryan would also love to get to know you especially if you like to sing or play a musical instrument
Karen has been a member since 1996.
She graduated from Perkins School of Theology at SMU with a Masters in the Arts of Ministry degree. She has been married to Lloyd Eaker for 45 years and they have one daughter, Della. Karen has a passion for peace, justice, and the environment.
